Journal 1-28-11
Hi my name is Anne. I had to leave my house because I am Jewish. The Nazis are coming for us and we have to go in hiding. Before we go we will have to put on lots of clothes. On every shirt or coat it has a star on it to let them know that I am Jewish and going in to hiding. We are going into the attic of my dads office. His friends are helping us. We have just been authorized that there will be 3 more people with us, they are the Van Daans. They are also Jewish just like us. The people that are helping us are named Mr.Kraler and Meip. They work with my dad in the office. The bad thing about it is that when there are people in the office we cant use water of walk around very much. My dad said that it is kind of good for me because it don't have to practice the piano or where over shoes anymore. I want to know will my friends miss me. There is a boy there and he has a cat. I had a cat but I had to leave it there with the neighbors I will miss it very much.

I had to wait for everyone to leave the place so that I can talk to everyone in the house. When I got to talk I took Peter's shoes and hid them behind my back. I told him i didn't know where they are at , then he started to chase me. That when i ran behind my mother he took me to the ground then took them. My mom made us stop. when we were playing someone pulled up and stopped on brakes fast. We were very scared. But that person pulled of, when all that was happening peter had an attitude and wouldn't let me play with his cat his mother got mad and told him to get his lesson done.

Today it was the same old as everyday still stuck in the attic since June. I am getting so tired of this. I as in my room doing nothing but reading. My mother and sister were getting dinner ready when the door bell rung it scares my mom every time. We thought it was Meip but it was Mr. Kraler. He came here with bad news, he said that his friend said that he has a Jewish man as a neighbor. The man was a Dentist named Dussel. He wanted to know can he stay with us. My dad said that he think he knows the man. He is going to stay in my room while I sleep on the couch. We don't know how we are going to eat if we don't have enough food for us. He said that he is very good with kids. Mr. and Mrs. Van Daans where being so mean to him.

Last night I had a nightmare. It was very bad, it was about the green policemen kicked the door in and drug me out the room like they did Jopie. I was very scared, my mom woke me up and told me it was just a dream. They said that is was screaming very loud. I wonder if anyone heard me?. It was the first day of Hanukkah, and we just started lighting the candles. When we finished that Dussel thought we were done but I told him that we weren't done we still had to open presents. Dussel asked us was it like St. Nick, but we told him no. Mom said that we won't have presents this year, I told her that i had presents for everyone.

Today I got Mr. Dussel a pair of headphones for him to not here me at night. He tried them out and he couldn't here me at all. while we were sitting down peters cat came out and Mr. Dussel told him to go but he didn't. Then Mr. Van Daan said that the cat is about to go. Peter said if the cat goes he will go, Mrs.Van Daan said that no one is going anywhere. Then we heard something down stairs, Peter tried to cut off the light but he fell and the lamp fell. When that happened the person left. My dad went down there and told us it was a thief. But he said the thief took the cash register and the radio.

Peter was furious towards Dussel, it was like he wanted to punish him. Mrs. Frank stopped Peter from going to Dussel. We were eating the cake that Meip brought for us. It Is very good, while we were eating the cake Mr. Kraler asked to speak to my dad down stairs. Then Meip asked was there something wrong and Mr Kraler said no, but my father said if there wrong that we need to hear it also.

Dussel was waiting to get in the room but I was changing. I was getting ready to go in Peter's room. While I was trying to find something to where Margot was making me a skirt. Everyone was in the front room. Mom was feeling sorry for Dussel so she came in and said that she hope I'm not going back to Peter's room again, because Mrs.Van Daan doesn't like that so i had to hurry up. When I got out of my room and went to Peter's room I had to pass by Mrs. Van Daan. I was about to go in Peter's room she stopped me and told me to let her speak to Peter. I don't know what they talked but when they stopped it went in we started to talk my mom said that I have to go to sleep at 9:00. So he gave me some soda and we kept on talking when I was about to leave I asked him have he ever kissed anyone he said yes. I did too so when I was about to leave I stood there waiting for him to kiss me bout when I was about to walk out he pulled me back and kissed me on my cheek. then I went to give my mom dad and Margot a kiss then i turned around to give Mrs. Van Daan a kiss and went to bed. In scene 3 we were sleep and my mom woke up and saw Mr. Van Daan stealing food.

The phone rang for a long time and Dussel was telling my dad that he needs to answer the phone because it might be Meip. She might have something to tell us and it might be very important. When the phone stop ringing we heard the cars stop to a screeching stop and everyone stop doing what we where doing. then we heard something at the door, my dad went to see who it was and it was the police. My dad said after all that time in hiding they finally found us. We think we know who told, it was the man who tried to brake in the building.
